Gurinder Preet Kaur is a Psychiatric Social Worker & Psychotherapist with a work experience of 5 years in the field of mental health. She has received her education from Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai and National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS), Bengaluru. Her research in Perinatal Mental health titled “Marital and family relationships of women with perinatal mental illness”. She has worked as a Psychotherapist for Rehabilitations and had her private practice where she saw clientele from diverse socio-cultural backgrounds.
Her work also involved offering training to various mental health professionals across India through projects of NIMHANS, MoWCD and UNICEF. In her clinical experience, she has worked with the adult population, couples and families. Her approach to treatment is trauma informed, and she expertise’s in offering family therapy, couple’s therapy, cognitive behaviour therapy, motivational enhancement therapy and rational emotive behavioural therapy. She aims at helping the clients along with their families in dealing with the emotional distress that arises from addiction or mental health issues.
