Effects of Heroin Addiction

Heroin addiction can lead to dangerous effects in the long run which include:

  • Addiction/heroin dependency resulting in extreme withdrawal symptoms when stopping use
  • Contracting HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis, and other blood-borne diseases
  • Collapsed veins
  • Contracting bacterial or fungal infections
  • Kidney failure
  • Death
  • Infection of the heart lining and valves
  • Rheumatologic problems such as arthritis
  • Poisoning from contaminants added to cut/dilute heroin

An approximate of 50% cause of death is affected because of an overdose of heroin. The acceptance to the drug develops exceedingly fast causing the urge for more. Overtime, it’s too much for a human body to tolerate.
